Hubbard’s Marina Fishing Report 11/10/17

Fishing report

Inshore- The snook action picked up a little during the day seeing some nice over slot fish being pulled up on the dock early in the week. Apparently the night bite remains steady on the peak tides for snook too. The free lined live baits have been the hot choice lately. The sheepshead are showing up more and more. This week’s calm conditions brought clearer waters and it was apparent the sheeps have come out to play. Pompano have been caught this week from the Johns Pass jetty using docs jigs. Mackerel are still around the jetties but have dwindled inside the pass. However, there’s still a good number being landed on Gotcha plugs and white bait.

Near shore- Big triple tail around still near shore especially on the weed lines and crab buoys. Cobia hanging around too, been catching quite a few on near shore charters using flat lines and pitch baits. Flounder action picking up as well were seeing big ‘doormat’ flounder coming in while drifting on our half day fishing trips. Hogfish still steady and will only continue to improve. While trolling the kings and mackerel are still pretty thick around the near shore artificial reefs and near shore bait schools. The ten hour this week even caught a nice blackfin tuna on a flat line.

Offshore- The 39 hour fishing trip has been more of a catching trip lately. The gag grouper bite has been out of this world multiple trips have come in with more than 50 gags! The red grouper and scamp grouper are biting well too. The 12 hour extreme trips have gotten on great grouper action too. It’s a killer time of year to get offshore when weather will allow. Kingfish still coming up while trolling on the way out during our 39 hour. Tuna being caught while flat line fishing or trolling between spots once out in the blue water. Mangrove snapper and yellowtail snapper action still going very well for how much the waters have cooled off.
